    Just dairy, soy is still ok at this point

    Will have to have a look to see what they have at the shops in town. Am hoping I can mostly get away with making things from normal foods, rather than buying the special foods iykwim. I have to consider cost at this point until we get established anyway.

    Quinoa is a grain that can be used similar to porridge.

    Can they have oats? It's a different grain to wheat.

    My niece is coeliac (gluten free diet), she uses rice flour and corn flour for all her baking (don't know if they have that in Australia though). Go to the gluten free section in your supermarket - all of those products are wheat free. Just make sure they don't contain dairy.
