Eluned, I think I wish for a macro lens daily! I won't be getting one any time soon though :(
I haven't been able to come on here long enough to join in with the conversation much lately, but I've been reading when I can. DD had to go back into hospital yesterday but I really think she is on the mend now :)
I looked at radio rentals to see if they had a SLR, but no :(
Maybe I should forget everyone else & get me one from chrisco! :lol:

Clover, have you had a look around for a 2nd hand SLR? eBay is usually quite good for the bodies and lenses. I reckon you might be able to find a 400d as it's an entry level SLR and most ppl upgrade from this at some stage.
That's a good suggestion about the 400d - I've got the 450d and love it.
I got in early with my photo today - Tilly is suddenly feeling a lot better, so her and I wandered down to the park before the heat of the day kicked in. i was hoping to take a picture of the commuters getting on the ferry, but they didn't come out too well. I couldn't resist making like a tourist and snapping a photo of the hazy harbour while I was there though.
My neon heart made the pop page today - yay!

My Hidden Treasures must have hit the shelf life of the popular page, it was on for 2 days.
And just to prove that a 400d can take great photos even though it is entry level... Look up a guy called wahyu on 365, his photos are amazing!

I always thought the 400, 450 and 500d were better than the 1000d? I have a 1000d and a friend of a friend has the 500 and was being all ... Superior oO;:
Wonder what kinda lens he uses... cos lens makes a massive difference in quality as well...
Mines being a pain lately. I dunno what's up with it but the pictures aren't as crisp as they once were. I've lost count how many times I've taken it to be cleaned. Anyone got any ideas?
ETA.. Wahyu has fanc-cay lenses! :P
helle, 400d is just an older model. It's what I have and I got it almost 4 years ago now. 1000d I think is just a newer model a bit higher up than the entry level 400. Now a 5d or even a 1d, that's a camera!
Lenses can make a huge difference too as can a speedlite. I have a 480ex. It makes a huge difference when you can diffuse the flash to the ceiling, makes for better portraits and indoor shots.
Not sure what you can do about the crispness? Do you have a filter on the front of your lens?

I have a filter over the lens, yeah.. but it's not filtering anything. it's just clear to protect the lens from being damaged (you know, cheaper to replace the filter than the lens if it gets scratched...) it's really annoying me. Maybe it's just how i'm using it?
how much are those 480ex? they'd fit onto a 1000d eh?

Just a quickie before I lose power - my shot of DS made popular. I'm kinda stoked, it's one of my favourite shots of him ever. Camera is wrapped in plastic and stuck in a cupboard. It's still calm here - less than 20km away the rain is horizontal. Not long now...

I found a guy selling a film camera, with a macro lens (that i'm sure will fit my DSLR, because my film lens fit it...) and the bid is at $20. Ok, so it has two days to go but a girl can dream, right?
another boring one today - I really need to get out and about and take some decent photos, maybe tomorrow a trip is in order

Got some photos of our shed today :p but might try for some pics of the girls in the bath or something.. some water shots with my iPhone.. not sure how well it will work though.
Jewel, thanks for the fav :) it is my fave of my own stuff too if ya get what I mean. There's lots of stuff on 365 that totally knocks my socks off though - so many creative people!

All this talk of camera equipment is making me twitchy in the credit card department! I've just remembered my dad gave me 3 of his old lenses - one is smashed inside but the other two seem ok I think - might take another look at them and even if they're no good for me I could take them to a camera shop and trade them in for something I really want (like a macro lens :D).

Jewel - I am obsessive, I usually take 10+ photos of my planned pic for the day then sift through and pick the best one. As my subject is a fast moving toddler - thank god for a fast shutter speed :):
I'm making my 365 blog into a photo book. A Photobook site I have used before now offers a 200 page book, so if I do two days to a page I will be able to fit it all in one book - Take a sneak peak :)

We went to Cairns in Oct - lots of the photos at the start of my 365 project are of our holiday - so sad to think how much damage there is going to be to all these beautiful places in a few hours :(

gawd my shot tonight is so silly - but it was funny! Mum & I went out to get cold rock but the carpark was chockers so we gave up & went to the supermarket for dessert instead. Baby girl was SUPPOSED to be fast asleep. Got home to discover that DH had been battling a screaming overtired girly the whole time we were gone... but boy, it was all smiles for this photo! Such a crack up. And DH & Mum have pigged out on the donuts hahaha.
I've been taking some shots on my hipstamatic but nothing worked out for me over the last day or 2. Gotta find my hipstamatic mojo again!

I have been following (OK Stalking) a fabulous 365 project of a friend of a friend - Google "Gregarious Peach" and take a look, she's just finished the 365th photo of her daughter and has another month to go for her baby boy - its my favourite blog/365 and her photography skills are awesome
