My current camera is a Pentax point & shoot, and that can't do apeture or anything either But one thing I have learnt is to use the super macro. I used that to get the pic of DDs toes poking out of her hammock, and the one of her sleeping in there with the focus on the butterfly on her sleeping bag.

My fave edits in Picnik are the simple ones really - just making it black & white or sepia, boost to brighten it up, vignette to add a fade-in border (good for getting rid of things on the edge of the pic), and the 'ish' ones - they do the fade-in border and change the photo, make it b&w or brighter or something. Also, with the colour ones, you can add the effect to only some parts of the photo. So for the one of DD napping with the butterfly, I made it black & white, then used the brush to remove the effect on the butterfly only. Had to zoom right in and it took a little while but I like it
