Unhappy We have Kanes next Op date.....

So Kanes next Op will be on 4th November....

He is having anoother lip repair, Palate Op and grommits put in....

I know he needs it, but I've been warned that the Palate Op is nasty and very painful for bubba....

God, I just wish he didn't have to do this, and I could do it for him...
I have never for one minute thought "why me?", but at times like these I think, "why him?"

I know he will fly through, he was a dream after his Lip repair, and we left within 18 hrs of the last Op, but this one has us in hossy around 3 days, possibly being tube fed and all....

I'm glad he is so young, having to tell him about it would break my already fragile heart today....

HUGE for you, you poor thing.

I don't know what you are going through or feeling but it must be terrifying. Kane is such a tough little guy and like you said, he flew through the last one so that is a great positive to focus on. Wishing you both all the strength in the world hun *mwa*

its soo hard when you know what is ahead
my DS has had 3 ops and i knew what was installed before we started and just like you i was worried sick
you know he is in the best care- you just feel bad as you know what is ahead- but you know what kids are like and they take it in their stride
he is a strong boy and he will be strong through this as well
take care of you and him and hugs to you all

It makes a big difference when you grow up not knowing anything else - what seems really horrid to you becomes just a part of life (annoying, sore and would be better if it didn't have to happen) for Kane.

    Hope it all goes smoothly
    hugs

Hi purplemumma, good luck with Kane`s operation, you know they are really tough at this age and brave, stay strong for him, once all of this is over you will never look back, when you tell him all the stories when he gets older he will wonder what all the fuss was about, but we can`t help to worry,i know, our son was terminally sick for eight year(he`s in Heaven now). All the very best to you and your family Hun,

    Thanks ladies....

I hate breaking down in front of the kids, but in here they dont know...

I know I'll cope, but when I think about it I get scared and feel all really insecure that things wont go ok....

The thought he wont come back to me after being put under is terrifying...

    Hi Jodie,
I can sympathise with you. I know how hard it is making that trip to hosp knowing your baby is going under the anesthetic.

When my daughter went in for her hip surgery earlier this year it was the first time she went under that I didn't have support for me. My princess was fine other than when they put on the mask she didn't have a single tear, mean while I was a mess. She came out fine as everyone had told me she would but it doesn't make it any easier or less scary as a parent.

Good luck for both you and Kane!!!. He will get through better than ever. Make sure you have someone at the hospital with you during the op, I know I could of done with a shoulder to lean on last time round.

He will be fine and it will all be worth it.

Jo, I will be thinking of you both. Your little boy is such a strong little man and he is lucky to have a very strong and caring mum. I'm sure he will be fine. Let us know how you go.
