To be fair to your DH on this one.... if it's a name in the top 20 (and you can google to find out if it is) then she'll be surrounded by other kids with this name for her whole life anyway, so it doesn't really matter if you already know one.

One of my bikes is called Laila. I don't know why, but the name just symbolises freedom and wind in my hair. It's my favourite.

I don't think that's the real meaning, it's just the image that it conjures up in my head.

The true meaning is: "as intoxicating as wine" Works for me!

Here is my list of girls names...ONE of which DH & I have finally chosen

    Amelia
    Madelyn
    Leila
    Abigail
    Darcie
    Tabitha
    Lily
    Lydia
    Jemima
    Charlotte

I have found girls names SOOOOO difficult to chose....probably because I had my heart set on one but DH didn't want a bar of it! Thankfully we've decided now!

    I like Kayla and Laila.

I have an Aunty Michaela, so I couldn't use Mikayla or Kayla (which DH and I both liked) and DH didn't like Layla .

I have always liked Jasmine, I think it is really pretty but I have known so many little girls named Jasmine (I worked in childcare for many years) so it was to popular for me, although I don't think that there are as many around these days.

Good luck in choosing, how exciting.

Ammaki, you would probably like our list of names, we seem to have similar taste!lol..

    Chloe
    Paige
    Jasmyne
    Holly
    Lia (pronounced like Mia)
    Tahlia
    Zoe
Sophia (no longer on our list)
Isabella (no longer on our list)

I still cant decide - my preference is Jasmyne Lia, but DH prefers Chloe and Paige as first names
