Baby names from a book or movie

I just found out recently that my sister was named after a movie character.

I am curious as to how many people are named after movie/book characters & why. Was it because you liked the name, or the qualities of the character?

Im also curious if anyone knows babies that have been named after twighlight characters, being its so big ATM.

Matilda was after Zoolander... instead of the obvious Matilda She didn't fit any of the 7 names we brought into hospital with us, and 4 days later we were going through favourite movies and female names...

Jovie was after Elf... the Will Farrell kids movie Elf. Matilda named my bump Jovie and it stuck

my little brothers name Jake came from tv show called jake and the fat man.
dont remember the show but dad loved it apparently

I went to school with a girl, her sister, brother and herself were all named after people from "days of our lives" as her mother didn't know any english and had just arrived in Australia Kimberley, Caroline and Jeremy

My DP is Cory, named after a kid called Cory in a tv show from the 60's 'Julia'

My Mum first decided on my name after watching Little House on the Prairie - But my Dad liked it pronounced "Ah-lee-see-ah" instead of "Ah-lee-sha" - So I kind of am named after a tv show, but not...

Okay... So about the Twilight thing... Um I didn't EXACTLY name my little boy after any of the characters...

It's more that I heard a name in the movie that I liked and it so happened that my previous choice of name had just been tossed due to us not liking the inevitable nickname... so there was a vacancy, so to speak...

So my little boy will be Cullen Jett, or CJ for short.

Please nobody stone me!

If we have a little boy in the future I want to name him Arden after a character in one of my favourite books from my teen years My Sweet Audrina by Virginia Andrews. But DH hates it so he suggested Aiden as a compromise-I can live with that!

LOL which nasty cow? Aunt March or Amy? I wanted to call DD Meg or Amy from Little Women but DH didnt like the names.

I didn't name DD after a character but loved Bold and the Beautiful at the time. I was even watching it while I was in heavy labour with her, she was born shortly after the show finished. I called her Brooke but not after Brooke from Bold.

on the topic of twilight all the names are pretty good especially the girls bella, alice, rosalee, esme all very pretty names and the boys too Jasper, edward, carlisle, emmett, jacob, charlie so even if u did name ur kids after them it would be hard to tell

We named DS Jasper and it's coincided with Twilight popularity, but I swear, I've had the name picked since I had DD1 11 years ago!! Truly!

I was named after a Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons song, but I was originally going to be named Samantha after Elizabeth Montgomery's Bewtiched character, does that count? Our eldest DS is partly named after the poet Adam Lindsay Gordon.

I know a few Trinity's that were born after the Matrix came out, one Summer after the Neighbours character, a Scott after "Scottie" from Star Trek, plenty of Aaron's after Elvis, my second brother was named Jason after Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th - mum is a die hard B grade slasher flick fan , my sister Katie was named after a caterpillar in a kids movie called Katie the Caterpillar and even wanted to call my 3rd brother Damien after the character in the Omen movie series but we managed to talk her out of that one.

I know someone who called their girl 'Kyah' from the character in the movie Willow...

My sister is Samantha because of the Cliff Richard song!
