Ther is a cartoon at the moment with a Bo (Bo on the Go)....Can't say i like it much, but that's just me and it's not my baby. I wouldn't think twice hearing it as a girls name
xx
Ever since hubby and I started dating we have wanted to name our little girl (if we have one) Bo. We saw the name on the movie signs and fell in love with it. We will be spelling it Bo like Little Bo Peep and not Beau. I dont have a middle name picked yet but it would be a family name and very feminine. We have son named Tate Millan and if we have another boy he will be Miles Franklin. Maybe thinking of using the name Beatrice and calling her Bo but Im just not up on the whole idea of naming your child one thing and calling them another. So what do you think of Bo for agirl???

I like the name Bo, and I really like the idea of giving her a formal name too. All my children, bar one, have a formal name but are called a shortened version at home as well as at school and nursery. I think it means if they grow up and hate their name they can choose another version of it.![]()
I actually prefer Bo for a girl. When I was pregnant with DS, DH had his heart set on Beau as a name for him (we didn't know what we were having until I was 34 weeks). Then I realised that his favourite show of all ime is the Dukes of Hazard (Beau and Luke Duke). So that was out.
I dunno about having a formal name though. Our little guy is just Nate, not Nathaniel (DD couldn't say it so we figured 'what's the point?'), so I guess I'm more a fan of giving them the name I intend to use.
Don't like the name sorry! Makes me think of Bo Derek lol
I'm sorry but I know too many boys named Beau to like Bo for a girl, but I always say if you love it then thats all that really matters!
Sorry don't like Bo for a name - I'd be thinking, what's it short for...Bobo (as in ...the clown)?!
I do however like the idea of going with a real 'B' name and then using Bo as a nickname. It's kinda cute but then she wouldn't be saddled with a 'cute' name when she's in her 30s...or 50s...etc.
BTW I have a friend called Isabeau - so think about names that might have a 'beau' at the end, one them might catch your fancy.
oooh Isabeau's cool![]()
I have a friend and her name is Bo. It is her full name, not shortened or anything. I really like it.
i dont like itsorry
I like it..
but it does make me think of Bo on the GO
I don't really like it, sorry.
Ooo I really like it.
thanks for your opinions ladies. Im glad to hear that it is out there as a first name other than bo derek. We are really wanting to use one syllable first names for all of our kids. Thats a big problen with giving her a longer first name. Oh well, I have plenty of time to think about it I guess!
i don't know but it made me instantly think of the little girl " Boo " in the movie Monsters Inc ... oh, i'm so sorry i can't say i'm a fan of Bo it looks like it has part of the name missing or something as it's so incredibly short ... sorry once again... BUT if it's what you BOTH love you should go for it

There's another spelling too - Beaux - I've known a boy called Beau and a girl called Beaux. Beaux looks pretty feminine too, if that ever was an issue.![]()
... now Nelle that makes me kind of like it if spelt like that - Beaux![]()
