I'm sorry but I know too many boys named Beau to like Bo for a girl, but I always say if you love it then thats all that really matters!

Sorry don't like Bo for a name - I'd be thinking, what's it short for...Bobo (as in ...the clown)?!

I do however like the idea of going with a real 'B' name and then using Bo as a nickname. It's kinda cute but then she wouldn't be saddled with a 'cute' name when she's in her 30s...or 50s...etc.

BTW I have a friend called Isabeau - so think about names that might have a 'beau' at the end, one them might catch your fancy.

I have a friend and her name is Bo. It is her full name, not shortened or anything. I really like it.

I agree with that. At the end of the day if you are set on it then it is your child. No one bar you and your DH have to like it though. I chose a name that can be modernised and not cutesy when older and can have a few variations. Maybe give that a go?

i don't know but it made me instantly think of the little girl " Boo " in the movie Monsters Inc ... oh, i'm so sorry i can't say i'm a fan of Bo it looks like it has part of the name missing or something as it's so incredibly short ... sorry once again ... BUT if it's what you BOTH love you should go for it

There's another spelling too - Beaux - I've known a boy called Beau and a girl called Beaux. Beaux looks pretty feminine too, if that ever was an issue.

Why not? If you like it then it will grow on her and will suit her. I do think that using another name like you suggested and then shortening it is a good idea if you are worried about her not liking it.
