is it pronounced Kay-den?? if not how is it pronounced?
I would really love your opinions on what you first think when you hear the name Kadan?
Do you think boy or girl?
This is the first name DH has been really happy with but my first thought was boys name but the more I think of it I really like it. It mixes a bit of both our first names.
is it pronounced Kay-den?? if not how is it pronounced?
I can't see that as a girls' name whatsoever, sorry. That said, girls can have "boy" names can't they? There's some girls out there named Dylan, for example...
My initial thought was a boys name, but the more I think of it I can see it as quite unisex. Kay is a girls name after all and this is not so different. I like it.
Pronounced KY-DAN we have a male relative with this name BUT i have heard of a little girl name KAY-DAN.. i think it's all in the pronunciation, but i think it's a cute name and could fit either sex.
Thanks. It would be pronounced Kay-dan do maybe spelling it with a y might make prenounciation of it.
I know what you mean Tenibear, I just think of names like Peta, Darcy and what you said and think how common it is to be used for both sexes.
I guess with all names there will be people who find them gender specific even when they are unisex. (I think I just answered my own question)
If you don't mind adding/changing a couple of letters, you could make it like Cadence? Kaydance or something similar?
I really like Kalen (Kay-len) for a girl - slight change of letters on Kaden. Infact I would have it as my girl's choice if DH's distant friends hadn't already used it (therefore DH doesn't want to)!
I think Kalen is much more an obvious girls-only name, whereas to me Kaden is a boy name.
I thought Boy when I first saw & pronounced it
I do think 'boy' when I see the name.
I like it for both... Cadence is a beautiful girls name, but I think Kadan is just as lovely. Would be tempting to mispronounce it with that spelling though.
I'd say boys name. I like the spelling Caden but if the spelling is a combo of both you and dh then that makes it special
I think Boy. But it is kinda feminine too.
Like others said there are lots of girls with boys names ATM. Just read a magazine - Hayden, Blake, Leighton.....all names that I would have said - BOY but they are girls.
I think it is a boys name...it is too masculine for me to see it as a girls name.
pronounced kydan I think it is really a boys name, pronounced kay-dan is a little more feminine but still a boys name as far as I have met. But if the name is coming to you, no matter what sex it is, go with the impulse as it is the bubba speaking the name it needs for this incarnation.
Kaden i would pronouce Kay-den and yes certainly a boy's name to me !!
... Kyden sounds and looks like a boy's name too !!
I know a sweet little girl named Kya![]()
i see it as a boys name cos one of my best friends is Cayden.
