No, the Gender we couldnt decide on was what we had
Hi Everyone,
I was thinking about this today... We are having terrible trouble trying to decide a boys name. I mentioned this around my grandmother the other day and she said, dont worry about it, it means you will have a girl!
This got me thinking, because that is what happened to a few of my friends, and they always thought they just got "lucky".
So I was wondering, how many of you lovely ladies found that to be true? The Gender you could decide on was what you had? Also interested in hearing the opposite.
Just as a tag on, We think we have decided on a girls middle name First name will be I.e.s.l.a (family name) middle name A.n.e.l.y.n (totally made up combo of family names) and was wondering what people thought, any issues etc.... our surname begins with W
(PS please dont repeat these names without breaking them, dont want people to find me on BB later)

I can't comment on the first part yet lol but just just wanted to say I love your choice of girls name, it's gorgeous!
DH and I took about 3 hours to pick a male name that we liked and Liebling is a boy.
We still hadn't fully decided on female name for Liebling when he was born. I do know what we'd have picked, but it took months and months and hundreds of names to get one we agreed on. Don't know if we'll keep the name for Stormy, but it was such a headache picking it we may well.
However - my parents picked a male name for me, but kept changing the female name as they didn't fully like it (and I eventually changed it by deed poll). They had the same issue with my sister, and my mother still tells people she doesn't like my sister's name.
First time, we found it very easy to pick either genders name (picked before the gender scan), and we had a girl (her name was picked when TTC lol). This time around, we found the boy name easy as it rolled over from DD's pregnancy. Found the girls name really hard, so we bonded with bubs as a boy. Kiefer turned out to be a girl lol.
We had definite girls names but boys were still undecided for both pregnancies - we were relieved both times! Honestly though when I pictured myself holding my baby, I could only ever envisage girls in my arms so I sort of always felt they they were both girls.
We had no trouble with a boys name. Funnily, we never had a girls name picked.
But like a pp I only ever saw myself with a boy and man was I relived when he was born![]()
DH and I are totally useless with boys names! Thankfully we had a girl, we love a lot of girls names and found it really easy to choose one for her. If our next bub is a girl it'll be easy again but if we have a boy, I think we'll spend the who nine months trying to find something we like!
ETA: Oh and also, I love your second girl's nameNot so keen on the spelling of the first but I do like the name.
Yep we had a girls name down pat, but just couldn't decide on a boys name! Lo and behold we have a girl
Having said that I think it'll be harder to agree on another girls name as ayva was the only one we could both agree on lol
No it wasnt true for us. We pretty much had a girls name, not that we really discussed it though as we just "knew" we were having a boy so we didnt really bother looking into girls names too hard lol. We agreed on a couple easily but focused our time more into the boys name which we just could NOT agree on. I hated all but one name DP suggested, he hated ALL the names I suggested lol. We found out we were having a boy at 20 weeks, I found one other name I liked which DP agreed on, but we could not commit to one! I went into labour at 40+2 and we still had no name, so I made DP pick and to tell me after the birth. Thank god he went with the name he first suggested, we always kept going back to it and we both loved it, the name I suggested would not have suited DS at all.
Love the girls name you have chosen. Different but still pretty.
When we had our first we had girls names we liked and agreed on but were definitely divided on boys names - I hated hubbys choice. We had a girl - pheww.
Second time around we had our boys name picked almost immediately and that is what I had...... :/
So yeah I seem to fit the mould...LOL!!
Oh the relief when we had a boy (didn't find out). We actually had fights over girls names!! Had his first name picked out before we even TTC and one day I suggested the middle name and that was that. DH actually said the minute he was placed on my chest, 'phew, now we don't have to come up with a girls name!'. Haha
Yep, true for us on all counts.
