I think the only people it will matter to is you and DH. My son's name is the same as the dog up the street, but I understand that these days people aren't sticking to traditional names for pets, but using names that they would call children. Hell - the dog next door is called Ruby, which is one of the most popular (and a very pretty) girl's name at the moment.
And you will probably find that if you have a girl, as she gets a bit older she'd love the fact that she has the same name as the cat!
So no, I don't think it really matters - I can understand you being upset (especially with the hormones on board which I can completely sympathise with) but I wouldn't let it take away your love for a particular name.
And I should also say that for DS we had his name right up to about 36 weeks and then fell out of love for it and picked what is now a better name so you still have plenty of time!
