Yeah! Didn't even think of Mabel! My old faithful red car was called Mabel, and I LOVE it! (as in rhymes with stable)
I also love Maggie, but DH had a monster crazy housemate Maggie and it will never be erased from his mind.

I would have Mattea rather than Mataya. Hmmm. Ambiguous spelling. Hmmm.
I have known a Mahli and a Marley. I'd go with Marley.
