Friends of ours have a gorgeous 6 month old called Leila but it's pronounced 'Leelah'. I thought it was 'laylah' and so did many others so it was very confusing! Anyway, to avoid any confusion I'd be inclined to stick with the more traditional spelling so Layla get's my vote. It's a gorgeous name!!

I prefer the spelling Leila. I think it's georgous. One of my best friends from college was named Leila.

I think Leila is prettier, but I would pronounce it Lie-la. I would go with Layla if you wanted it pronounced Lay-la.
