Maybell??

I heard this name on the movie "The Bridge to Terabithia" and I thought it was so lovely and sweet. It's not pronounced like Mabel (rhyming with table) but more like two seperate names - May and Belle.

Possible spellings...

Maybell
Maybelle

Same here, it does remind me of the Beverley Hillbillies. A lot of compound names with May do- May Belle, Ellie May, Mayella, etc.

If I were to use the name, I'd spell it Maybelle, like it was spelled in the book.

I thought the name on the hillibillies was Ellimay? It doesnt sound anything like Maybelle? Or am I wrong???
