I like Toby.
You could always use Tobias as the registered name, then he has a choice when older
Hi Ladies,
We're having a boy and we haven't really discussed names as yet. Although a name we came up with the other night was Coby. Middle name will be Phillip. Then last night my DH said he'd been thinking about it and liked Toby.
So what does everyone think?
Toby Phillip
Coby Phillip
Do you think that they are cute kids names but not so adult?? I'm not sold yet but I do like them both....only thing is we had a family cat called Toby! But I guess that doesn't matter.
Thanks heaps
I like Toby.

I know an adult Toby. Can't imagine him as anything else - he's had nearly 30 years to put his stamp on the name.
They're both good names - Coby gets around a bit as a girls' name, so that's something to consider, I guess.
I really really like the name Toby, I think it is a name that suits all ages.
I like Toby better than Coby but I don't think either of them are great on adults. I do know an adult Toby & I still don't like it. Cute for kids though.
I like Toby better too.
I knew a guy called Tobin - that could be shortened to Toby?
I'm going to go against the grain here and say I like Coby best. No real reason, it just appeals to me more. They are both lovely names though xx
I like Toby. I went to high school with a Toby and it seemed fine as a 17 year old so I honestly think it'd be fine as an adult name.
I really like Toby. I know an adult Toby and it never occured to me that it's not a 'grown up' name
TBH I personally have Coby in my list of bogan names so I don't really like it.
I really like Toby, it's #2 on my short list.![]()
I like Toby, i know both a tobias and a tobin but i also know someone who is just TOBY and it seems to suit him fine as an adult.
I think Coby is a very feminine name, but I love Toby! I have grown up with a Toby (his real name is Tobias) and he has been a cute kid, great as a teen and now at 25 he is almost a doctor. I think its quite a strong name![]()
I'm biased lol my eldest DS is Cobie so I love it. It can be spelt Koby as well. I have always liked Toby to but with a Cobie it is to close. My Cobie is nearly 12 now and you couldn't find a more manly, sports mad boy if you tried. I have no trouble seeing him as an adult with that name and if you do then just look at the american basketballer Koby Bryant.
No offence Kim but I don't find Koby Bryant much of a role model LOL
I like Toby and Tobias as a formal name![]()
Thanks everyone for your opinions. DH is still liking Toby but doesn't like Tobias.
I think it will definately be on our shortlist!
We won't be able to decide before we meet our bubba so we will be taking a list of a few faves with us to Hospital!
Thanks again
