Talking Names you loved but will never/ have never used.

I have accepted that my two names I have always wanted to use will never happen, DH wont budge at all.

My girls name is Audrey, love it. DH thinks of the daughter from National Lampoons and can't get past that.

My boys name is Corban, I watched 5th element and that was it, I loved the name. DH laughs at me everytime I bring it up again.

What are the names you always thought you would/will use but could not get your LO to come to the party on?

Liam for a boy. We have a nephew William and DH thought it too similar.

I would have liked Alice for a first name for DD, it made it to second name. DH couldn't get the nightclub version of Living Next Door to Alice out of his head.
Lots of girls names actually, I love Stella, Ruby, Scarlett and Grace...various reasons why DH didn't like them.

Names you loved but will never/ have never used.

I loved Everleigh for a girl. DP says it sounds like Beverly.

I really really wanted DS to be Elliot. But he couldn't get past Elliot from Law and Order (who I love!!)

I have so many girls names, favourites were Morgan, Iris, Ruby, Alice and Annie. Other boys names I adored were Sam, John, Victor and George. Getting a puppy in the new year so will use one then!

Miranda for a girl. DP didn't like it this time around and with choosing DD2's name, too many of the same sounds.

Henry for a boy. My sister used it for her dog. :/

Charlie, we used it for our dog! Never realised how much we would like it.

Maggie and Grace were both names I wanted that DH hated. He wouldn't even let me call the dog Maggie lol. When DS was born we were tossing up between calling him Jay and the name we called him, we were going to use Jay for our next boy but had 2 girls so never got to use it.

I LOVED Dashiell (nn Dash) but DP swayed me into another name for our baby boy. I got so close with Dash!

I would love a Clementine for a girl but DP just laughed

I love Camilla for a girl, which is my great grandmother's name, but as DH is a Pom, he won't use it because of Camilla Parker Bowles, how ridiculous.
I love Leon for a boy but no go from Dh so it will be my next cat's name

There were many that DH vetoed, more b/c he didn't like them and I vetoed many of his. We were lucky to agree on the two girls names in the end.

Some of mine were - Caleb, Callum, Elise, Elyssa, Alicia
One of DH's that I would NEVER use was - Yannick

I always wanted to name my daughter Halle, DH hates it. I also love Emily (but too close to DD's name and the name of DH's cousin) and Amy (but two people in DH's family already have that name).

I would love to name a boy Spike Danger but alas my childbearing days are gone. DH wanted road name a boy Vinnie but I overruled him. He also wanted to name a boy Mcgilveray but again I said no. I only ever loved one girl's name and we only got one girl so no difficulties there.

Gees, I have a list a mile long. DH hates all of them. Heaven only knows how we actually named 3 children.
I name I had loved for all eternity was Maeve. It means fairy princess. When I was in my drug-induced-unable-to-verbalise phase after we had DD1 (we didn't know her gender until she arrived) and they asked what her name was, I was desperately willing DH to say Maeve...he said Darcy (the top of his list)...lol she's nothing but a Darcy and I love it....now.

ETA Trav, I only ever loved 3 boys names - two are my Dad and DH's and one is DS'...does that mean I get another girl? I hope so. I have plenty left in the girls name tank lol.

Owen, Noah, Callum, Annaliese, Annabelle, Amelia....my list could go on for a while!

DH and I have very different views on what constitutes a suitable name! I'm surprised our children got named in a timely fashion!

Willow and Piper were favourites for me this time, but DH hated them. Luckily in the end we found a unique girls name we both loved (Annika).
Zara was our girls name when we had DS, but by the time we did have our girl we'd outgrown it.

I have loads. Who knew men were allowed a say!
i really loved Aurora, Audrey, Imogen but all nay sayed by DH. I cant remember the names I wanted for DS1 because the name we ended up with suited him perfectly. We both wanted a J name for DS2, so that wasnt too hard.

i have a new favourite boy's name but I'm too scared to tell DH until we need it because I know he'll hate it
