Ones I've only really seen one spelling for

    Emma
Sorry - alternate spelling here - I've seen this as Emmah (I used to have a student spelt like this - I didn't get why the H on the end though.

    Yeh, but its not common.
Its not like you'd tell someone your name was Emma and they'd automatically ask how to you spell it, or 'is it with an H'?

My name has 2 really common spellings and I get asked all the time, is it el or ael. And sometimes elle or eal

    What was on his list?
Sounds like this is really stressful for you both but you both need to be involved in the process.

Do you need a middle name too?

aaah the partners rule, I remember those lol almost the same rules as you. But he added had to have double letters in there - go figure lol

I like Emma ad Laura, it goes well with your other kiddies name. HTH

My DH has the same rules. And your rule as well It makes it nearly impossible to choose a name that he'll like. For this one, we narrowed it down to

    Emily
    Erin
    Isla
    Amy
    Claire

All fairly common but with one "usual" spelling. I have met people with these names in the past (except Isla but that's a famous person so it fits the same category) and DH has as well but he was finally able to get over it. We had the same problem picking boys names too.

    Good luck.
