I wouldn't use it. But my vote probably doesn't count coz I don't love the name anyway. Do whatever you want, who cares what other people think!

Honestly, I really had to think about the connection. I'm 24. I doubt your DD2's friends will have much idea at all about it and if they do? I don't really get the big deal but that might be showing my lack of knowledge around the case... I mean, it is the innocent 9 week old baby, doesn't seem 'negative' to me - regardless if it was dingos or something else or what you know? What damage will the connection do? And as others mentioned, once you name somebody something, the people close to them will have to stretch their minds to think of anyone/thing else past the initial thought. Lots of people share names with lots of people.

The Jayden thing, I had to google and still, have never heard of the story so it does become a generational thing...

I think it is a beautiful name

    Ah-zay-lee-uh, or Ah-zar-lee-uh? I like it .

And thanks to those who said they wouldn't use it. I do need to know how many people have that "hell no" reaction. So speak up, I won't be offended .

I think it's a beautiful name. I think it would honour a precious little girl who died too soon as well as just being lovely on its own. It's soft and feminine. I'm not a fan of Zariah but only because Azaria sounds softer.

If you like that sound combination, Aria is nice.

I agree it honours her. She was the victim of tragic circumstances, not a vile person, not a killer, not anything awful. Just a life taken too soon. I understand the connection to her case but I don't think it is a negative connection anymore. And I'm due on her birthday .

I wouldn't. There just aren't enough other Azarias to balance it out. I put it together with Celeb names and celeb baby names Suri, Keanu etc.
Zariah i would pronounce like Mariah (Carey).

i do quite like it. i think there was a thread a while ago where someone was thinking about using it & someone made a good point - most kids their age or at school wont know of the chamberlains so that makes it easier as well. there would prob be a few parents now who've forgotten or were too young anyhow.

I made the connection with the Chamberlains but I do like the name. I think some people will always have a name that they don't particularly like b/c they know of a child with that name whom is 'X' (insert choice of word here). The only difference is the famous connection. I like it with the 'ah' on the end too - very feminine.

I personally love the name and really, who cares if people will connect it to The Chamberlain family? Would you? If people do connect it to The Chamberlains, you could say "Yep, pretty name huh?"
I'd rather my child have the name of someone who died innocently rather than be connected to the name of someone viscous. I mean, if your surname was Manson, you wouldn't call your child Charles, right? Lol

It's not something I'd ever do, BUT I do think that as time goes on the significance of the name won't matter anymore if that makes sense. If you did it in the 80's or even well into the 90's people would think you were a nutjob for using the name, but I dont' think most people would bat an eyelid now. Even if they did make the connection it would only be a passing comment and life would move on.
