    Pick of 2 girls names...

Hi only newly pregnant again but much to my husband's annoyance I continually talk about names..... So if he won't listen yet (says he'll discuss nearer DD, which is way to far away!) I thought I might get your opinions....
We already have Delanie Grace and for my girls name I was tossing up between:
    Anika Ava
    Amity Ava
Our last name starts with a K and would prefer not to have name beginning with K or C.
Which do you prefer and how do you think Anika/Anikka/Anica should be spelt?
Any suggestions on boys names (or other girls names) would be helpful also. I like unusual but not to wacky.

I think Amity goes nicely with your DD's name.

I agree the sooner it is sorted the better. Boohoo to DH I say.

I really like Anika Rose myself as I prefer not to have double letters (AA)

    Good luck with your decision.

i would spell it Annika, but I think it's difficult to say Annika Ava because it's two A's next to eachother. Just my opinion though.

    pick of 2 girls

I have been lurking here for some time, but just registered so that I could reply to your post. My DD4 is named Anika Bridget. We pronounce 'Anika' as A-nee-ka. Sometimes she gets called Annika (an-i-ka). It does annoy me sometimes. I tell people that it is pronounced like Anita, but with a K in place of a t. She has many nicknames - Nooks, Neeka, Neeky.

People often comment that it is a pretty name. I have only ever met one other Anika, and she was in her 20's.

    I hope this helps.

I think Amity sounds nicer with Delanie. How is Delanie pronounced though?

Both names are lovely but I think Anika is the best. I agree that two A names together sounds a bit funny.
I will give some suggestions when I can think.

    I like Amity Ava.

If the AA is too close and therefore gets a bit tounge tied what about Danika Ava?

Thanks muchly for all your opinions.... I hadn't really thought about have the double 'A's... I like the Ava (one of my best friends has it for a first and can't steal) as a middle name so I quess I just need to continue to ponder over the next 8 months about it.
In response to Mumtobe123, Delanie is pronounced like Delaney, not like Melanie with the D like a few people pronounce it. I sort of wished I had just spelt it with the 'ey' to save confusion but I liked the look of 'ie".

I prefer Anika but think it would suit a different middle name perhaps (although it wouldn't matter at all- you barely say first and middle names in the same sentence).
    Some other A name suggestions;
    Amiah
    Aysha
    Ayla
    Aubrey
    Avalie/Avaley
    Aleiya (Ah-lay-a)
    Ariane
    Arielle
    Alira
    Aramei/Aremai (ending sounds like 'may')
    Aralyn
    Akeiba
    Amber

Oh, I do love A names.....

Yeah I thought it was like Delaney. What a cute little name! I still think Amity and Delaney sounds better together than Anika and Delaney.
