    I would. It is a different name and they are never going to know that you use Charli as a nick name. Unless your parents that see all the grandkids and would have two called the same?

    I don't see a problem with it. If you haven't seen your brother in 20 years, are you even supposed to know what his daughter is called?

    An alternative nickname could be Lottie - I've known some really lovely Lotties.
