Can I please say something about how names are pronounced.

Usually (there are obviously exceptions - ie doctors surgery etc) when we have a little one we "tell" people their name. Hubby will ring everyone with the name - friends will pass it on etc - so the little one is usually introduced and how you pronounce it will stay with everyone who matters.

They will then ask you how its spelt but already they know how the name is pronounced. This also happens when they go to school - the teacher will pronounce it how you say it not how it's spelt. So don't panic too much it will only be people reading the name that may mispronounce it and they don't matter anyway because they aren't close to you.

Sorry for long post - hope this helps.

Thanks for all the replies, I think i will go with Sascha. I think for me this looks visually better. I wouldn't want to put an extra 'r' in the mix. Thanks to the Sacha who replied, I did see this spelling while researching the name but did not want to add more choices to my list. I know the name is a nickname in Russsia for Alexander and Alexandra, i like these names but have a brother called Alex.

Thanks to everyone for helping me decide.
