    spelling

    Hi all,

I am due with my 2nd girl in March. We have decided on a name and I would like opinions with the spelling.

The name is Sascha, pronounced sar-sha not sash-a. The orignal Russian spelling is Sasha and the German spelling is Sascha which i prefer but am not fixed on. I worry if I spell it Sasha people will pronounce it as sash-a.

So which spelling do you prefer?

    Sascha or Sasha

I dont think the addition of the 'c' makes it any more obvious how to pronounce. I would proabbly say Sash-a for both but be quite happy to be corrected when you told me how it was pronounced

My sister's name is Sascha and most people pronounce it Sar-sha so I think that would be the best way to spell it for that pronounciation.

I don't think either spelling puts an emphasis on the sound of the name.

    I prefer the spelling Sascha.
