I prefer the spelling of SASCHA ... but so sorry i would have pronounced it like Sasha as i wouldn't have known there was a different way to say it other then your mentioning it

I know two Sascha's both pronnounced Sa-sha so I would automtically say it that way. Therefore I vote the other way...or perhaps put an "r" in to make sure it's pronnounced the right way.

Yep i agree put an "R" in there and then if ppl do pronounce it incorrectly they feel like the goof when they are corrected!

Sasha, but it's a nickname for Alexander/Alexandra in Russia.

Please don't put an R in it. It looks downmarket, and in some (non-Australian) accents it would be pronounced horribly- SaRRRsha.

I've known both male and female Sachas (pronounced SASH-a), as well as a SUSH-a and a Russian SARSH-a. I agree with the other posts, the difference in spelling has no bearing on pronunciation. spell it however you like, then tell people how it's pronounced, but expect any non-Europeans to say SASH-a first!
