I'm not a big fan. I can understand why if it's the mother's maiden name, but I don't really like the sound of it. I have a friend with a surname as a first name and a first name style surname... he doesn't like the mix-up. His name is Davis too. I also know a guy (with a normal name) who had a girl's name for his last name... now that switch-around (so he had a girl's name and his name as a last name) was amusing.
Harper I tend to associate with Harper Lee, who was a girl.
our ds name i have been told is a surname known to some. we also have harper on our list for our number 2 on the way- But we have chosen it as a girls name, although i have heard it a few times for both sexes
its your baby- you do what your heart tells you too
I'm a huge fan of surnames as first names - no idea why - they just sound cool! Strong I guess. I love Cooper but can't have that as it is our surname!
