    Thoughts on Maisie...

What do you think of the name Maisie? I think it is seriously cute...but I'm worried that it might not be such a good name when bubs is an adult...do you think this is an issue? Is it okay as an adult name too? We are having so much trouble trying to find a name we can agree on for bub #3...a girl according to 20 week scan...

Yep, I love it, it's gorgeous.

And don't worry about it as a grown-up name. She will be growing up with kids called Talaileeannah and Zheeibe (hope I have not offended anyone with my made up offerings) and I think Maisie will honestly be one of the most grown-up names of her generation.

I think its gooooorgeous! I have a Jemima and worried about the same thing but as Audax said she would be growing up in the worlds of 'Apple's' and 'Suri's' so I wouldnt be too concerned

Honestly, I don't really like it. I don't know why. I can't really see a teenager with that name either. Sorry if I offend.

Anyway, if you and DH like the name, then use it. The only people's opinion who counts is yours and your DH. Your baby girl will love the name she is given and probably won't be able to imagine being called something else.

I love it, if it wasn't my parents cats name I would have had it on girl list.

I agree. I don't like cutsie names for older children/adults, but again my opinion and as the others have said - it's your choice

Thanks for your honest opinioins everyone! We just found out that MIL has a major problem with the name (knew someone she didn't like - you know the drill!). This means that DH is becoming less keen on the name anyway.... Not long to go!!! feelin' the pressure to make a decision!

Probably too late now to bother - such a shame about your MIL not liking it - but anyway...

Maisie makes me think of Charlie and Lola as one of the little girls who does the voice of Lola is a Maisie..... I LOVE charlie and lola :-)

Good luck coming up with a name!

I can pretty much guarantee that if you call your daughter Maisie then your MIL will perhaps not mind the name so much anymore. My dad was a bit 'errr' about the name we were considering for our son and now he loves it. So - do what you want I think. You can always put it to your DH that you are doing the name a favour, since your daughter will give it such a good reputation.
