Honestly, I don't really like it. I don't know why. ... Sorry if I offend.
Sorry I'm another that agress with the above. I do know a little girl with the name and she's gorgeous, but I just don't like the name. Sorry

Thanks for your honest opinioins everyone! We just found out that MIL has a major problem with the name (knew someone she didn't like - you know the drill!). This means that DH is becoming less keen on the name anyway.... Not long to go!!! feelin' the pressure to make a decision!

Probably too late now to bother - such a shame about your MIL not liking it - but anyway...

Maisie makes me think of Charlie and Lola as one of the little girls who does the voice of Lola is a Maisie..... I LOVE charlie and lola :-)

Good luck coming up with a name!

I can pretty much guarantee that if you call your daughter Maisie then your MIL will perhaps not mind the name so much anymore. My dad was a bit 'errr' about the name we were considering for our son and now he loves it. So - do what you want I think. You can always put it to your DH that you are doing the name a favour, since your daughter will give it such a good reputation.

I personally hate it. It reminds me of this annoying pt I looked after and it might be cute as a babies name but ? an adult name

I love Maisy, not so much with the 'ie' - too OTT for me.

But yes, I know 2 adult Maisy's and a 10 year old and it suits all of them just fine. I think names tend to grow with you so I wouldn't worry too much.
