Water-inspired names

Hi!

I am compiling a list of baby names- boys and girls (since we don't know what bub is). As well as including names that I simply like, I am trying to come up with water-inspired names. I kept my 'maiden name' which is a 'water' name and my kids have DH's name. I thought it might be nice to give this bub a name inspired by, or meaning, water. I am looking for help
The names can be broad interpretations, ie. can mean ocean or another body of water.
So far I have only come up with girls names:

Tallulah ('leaping water');
Pearl (definitely a broadening of the concept, but clearly lives in water!);
Mira (MEE- rah, Sanskrit for 'ocean');
Avanyu (ah-VANH-you, a deity who is a feathered sea serpent and guardian of water).
I would appreciate comments on the above names, and any others that you know of.

I love Tallulah but Mira is beautiful! Not Pearl.

I think you could go with any body of water that is special to you, like Murray for the Murray River for example. Or Venice.

There's a beautiful folk song about a water goddess of the ocean, rivers and rain. I hope you'll fall in love. it's one of my favorites.

Hi Ash now it’s your turn. I remember so fondly the discussions we had leading up to the birth of my DS2.... I’m still chuckling.

For a water inspired name I really like Laurina or Wallaya. There is a beautiful plant called a Water Gum or Wallaya (Tristaniopsis laurina) that grows along rocky creeklines here in Sydney.

Tristaniopsis – Honouring Juels de Tristan a French botanist.
Laurina – Laurel like, referring to the leaves.
Wallaya – local Aboriginal name.

River names I like:

Acheron - in Victoria. I have beautiful memories of sitting in a rockpool there.
Avon - a little bit "The Wire" but I'm OK with that.

Maranoa - I love hearing about this river on the radio. We went there when DD was little, and it is full of life.

Banjo, as in the man from snowy river (or author of, at least) is that a bit far?

Isis - her tears were believed to be the cause of the flooding of the Nile

Wyatt - means from the wood or water

I think there's a Maori name 'Ngawai' which means water.. Pronounced Nah-why.

I have taught brothers called Bae and River. There was also a sister called Storm. They obviously were going with a theme!

Marianina isn't Maria Nina, it's pronounced marry-a-nina (said really fast, lol).

I'm not sure how to pronounce Nalin- but I think it's an uber-cool name!

I enjoy doing names with you too I have no idea what the brackets around an 'a' means. I had been extending the 'a' - so, naa-lin (a bit like nar-lin, rhymes with marlin!).
