    WDYT we go with?

i so hate having a DF with a poo surname!!
DF and the girls surname is Daly(daily)
Since DD1 was just a blasty we've loved Jackson, but theres now a few Jacksons in our immediate and non immediate circles so we've gone off it. but we both love Jack on its own. But Jack Daly sounds like a made up name kinda like John Citizen!
We've always loved Oscar aswell so have informally decided that if we ever have a boy it'll be Oscar Jack Daly. but i'm worried itll eventually come back and bite us in the butt because we preffer Jack more than Oscar.

For a girl We've informaly decided on Grace but a middle name has us thrown, i'd love to use Adele but Grace Adele Daly seems too much of a mouthfull, i would dearly love to use Adele as a first name though..
So our second choice is Grace Meryn Daly.
What do u girls think, are the names too made up or too much of a mouthfull?

Our other girls are Charlotte and Isabelle.

For me Harrison was my absolute number 1 and went soooooo well with our girls, but no DF's ex from god knows when had the surname Harrison and he wouldnt have a bar of it!!
Feel free to throw alternatives at me too!

I actually think you're being too harsh on the surname and I don't mind any of the combos you've suggested.

Jack Daly sounds fine to me! Personally I prefer Oscar but if you prefer Jack then go with it.

I also prefer Adele but in any case I think Grace Adele Daly sounds good too.

Grace i like but dont think it flows as we as charlotte or isabelle with Daly.

damm that you cant use Harrison as its an awesome name!!!!!!!

    Good luck

If you love Jack, use it!

I regret not using the name that I love and giving it to DD as a middle name. Kids grow into their names so even if you think it sounds a bit funny, it wont after a little while. It will just be his name and sound perfectly normal!

Good luck hun, its hard this name game but if you have a name you love then you can't lose.

with the boys name...have you gone though older family members? thats how we've sorted out bundys name should they pop out as a boy. as for girl...DH got that from a guy he worked with his DD - strangely enough DJ got his name from that guy
if you want a baby names book i have one you can have, that has some interesting names in it!

Lol Dansta, no u havent missed anything! just being super organised for something different! we had both the girls picked out b4 they were concieved and its very odd for us to be trying for a baby with no name yet. but when i have news dnt worry u will be getting a very excited txt msg.

Thanks for ur input girls, its such a tricky thing!! finding names that 'go' with ur other kids, making sure its a name that wont cause to much teasing ect.
i think our reasons for avoiding jack are probably more relevant to our generation more than bubs generation so it probably wont be an issue.

i only just thought of this i guess Adele Daly wouldnt be forever for her, it'd change once she married

i actually think your surname Daly is fine, nothing wrong with it at all !!

... and i don't mind Jack Daly too

Jack Oscar Daly sounds great to me

... i'd have concerns using Grace as Pandora has a point there and not every woman changes her surname when married (i would never change my surname when married, and my my older sister who is married has kept her maiden name) !!

With Adele there as a first name i feel as though it doesn't look right with Daly (i think cause they both have a single L) and doesn't seem to flow like your other children's names do.

Smiles, i said outloud today, charlotte, isabelle and adele it didnt flow for me at all. might be back to the drawing board for a girl i think.
i've thrown a few names at DF but he poo pooed all of them. Sophie got a thats not too bad though!

They're great suggestions pandora but we already have an Isabelle. i think two names ending in elle might be a bit much

ah ya too sweet ... but she's got a DD there already ending in 'elle'

funny thing is my Mum suggested Adelle (spelt that way when i was preg cause it's half of the beginning of my the DP's name & half the end my name ... so there's an idea Skybie could you do that with your and your DF's first names ?? )

Skybie ... my only itty bitty piece of advice to you would be if you feel a doubt with a name ' don't ' go for it, i personally find if i doubt something then go ahead with it i run a huge chance of regrets later on ... yeh keep away from those doubt feeling names IYKWIM

    Here are some off the top of my head ;

    Alannah Daly
    Amelia Daly
    Cendrine Daly
    Helena Daly
    Sophia Daly
    Terese Daly
    Trelise Daly

    ......... um I think i take back my previous comment about a single ' L ' name
