The girl's name we have picked is Charlotte Esther - which would make our would-be DD the third Charlotte in my office ... too bad!

I don't think any of the others would think that I'm copying - it's a perfectly common name, and they clearly just have taste as good as mine

If it was a very unusual name, or a very distinct manner of spelling, that would possibly be different.

Very random!! Dont, whatever you do, compromise on your choice of names because of this. Use the names you love, dont let aquaintances stop you.

That is random. I wouldn't change my names though. The names we choose for DS (both first & middle) are names used by coworkers of mine. DD's first name is also the name of my bosses daughter. All were choosen since I've been working here although DS's first name was a random chance as I didn't realise one co-worker had a DS with that name as she works from home & hadn't socialised with her at all.

I think there comes a time when you have to draw the line on where to stop worrying about having the same name as others around you. I understand if its family or good friends, then that's a good reason to discuss a name change, however, if its as removed as a work environment with people you aren't social with outside of work, then I'd go with what you have picked. You and your baby need to live with the name you choose for the rest of your lives. Chances are, you won't be in touch with these people for a lifetime. That's just my opinion anyway.

Depends on the name... if it's Jack and Isabella, then I'm really not surprised. If it's Hildegarde and Roger, then, yeah, completely random.

I reckon anything top 20 is fair game. Maybe even top 50.
