    i like it but i wouldnt call my own child velvet. a nice alternative could be violet?

    I thought it could grow on me but once I read that it sounded stripperish I have to agree. I like Hollo's idea of Violet, sounds similar.

    Although it wouldn't be a pick of mine, I do quite like it - Elizabeth Taylor played the role of Velvet in National Velvet - love that movie!!
