What do you think of these names?

Just wondering what people think of these names. Our other two girls are Nikita (dec.) and Shae so really we want something thats nice and different but something that can be yelled out together with Shae without sounding blerk

ALSO - I don't like names that are short for something else or an alternative to something else.

Our surname is Scandinavian and starts with an S and end in an N so while other suggestions are VERY welcomed they cannot end in S or N (just another idiotic thing I have)

we also need middle name ideas depending on first names as we will not be using any family names as they have been done to death

    My list so far is:

(first) Ruby - meaning precious stone (middle) Mai - meaning brightness (jap)
    (f) Freja - meaning Noblewoman
    (f) Amara - meaning Eternally Beautiful .... though I believe its also a hotel chain
    (f) Tori - meaning Bird (jap)
    (f) Jolie - meaning Pretty .... only worried the pronunciation will get Jolly

I also liked Elira thinking that was an actual name but I think I made it up as I couldn't find it in the baby book.

I always wanted Ruby Mai but I personally am leaning towards Freja for some reason the name really resonates and sounds great with Shae and works REALLY well with our Surname. DH is ok about it but wants to keep looking LOL.

    So what do you think?

I LOVE ruby. Ive been throwing it at DH for a middle name.
I also live freja (pronounced freya) I would be using that too if I didn't have a friend with a bub the same age as jack named freya.
    Freja ruby perhaps?
Ruby Mai is absolutely adorable too <3

I know 3 little Rubys. So it's a little more common at the moment.

I love Mei and Freya. Freya Mei?

A friend has a six year old Jolie and she doesn't have a problem with being called Jolly.

I like all your choices. :-)

Eta not a massive fan of Tori. Maybe Tori spelling has negatively influenced me, or maybe it's the nick name torrs....

I love Ruby even though it's popular. It's gorgeous. I'd use it but it's already taken in our family.

Amara is my next fave on your list - love it!

When I saw Freja on your list I thought it would go really well with your surname (being scandanavian and all).

I love Ruby too (not on our list 'cause it doesn't work with our surname).

    I like Tori too.

I really like Ruby & Freja...but actually don't think they go with what your other names. They are more old style but that's just my opinion.
I actually really like Elira...who cares if it's not in the book. I had a book of 5000 names & couldn't find one I liked

instead of amara what about Amari, it means "eternally lovely" in greek and "strong" in African, it also unisex, we had it chosen for a while but have opted for another name instead.

I love Freja and Jolie. I know lots of Rubys so I guess that puts a dampener on that one for me.
Not really a fan of Amara, but I've never heard of the hotel chain with that name either.

Isn't Tori a shortened version of Victoria?

I love Freja, I wanted it for DD. DH didn't like it, as he thought of the movie The Year My Voice Broke I think her name was spelt Freya?
I also like Ruby (another one that was on my list). It is becoming quite common now. Quite a few at DS1's school.

I like Amari too but I am sure there was an Avon perfume with the same name and my FIRST proper boyfriend who I shared my first proper pash with got me that perfume ... so couldn't use it

A friend of mine who lives in Asia told me there was a hotel chain called Amara she is a lot more travelled than I am so I have no idea lol

I think Elira is a different spelling of Allira. I've seen that a few times.

I love Freya or Freja. Not so keen on Ruby.

    Ooooh I LOVE Elira!!!

For me... no to Jolie and Tori. But then I don't like Tori Spelling or Angelina Jolie lol. I like Freja and Ruby off your list but if I had to choose, I'd be choosing Elira.

Oh and your reasons for no S or N... same with me, except H or N. Our surname is German ... so omg so many names sound awful with it lol.
