Would you name your child the same name (or very close) to the name of a cousin?

We haven't seen this particular cousin in over three years (but I do see my Aunty and Uncle more often). The name we are thinking of is the longer version of the name of my cousin.

Some examples (not using the actual names)

We want
Christopher

My Cousins name is
Chris

or We want
Annabelle

My Cousins name is
Anna

Be honest, do you think it is inappropriate?
