I had Heath, Max & Owen on my boys name list My fave would be Owen but my DH didn't like it. DH's is Max. Max made it to the final 3 for DD had she been a boy. I think it's a nice strong manly name. I went off Heath after Heath Ledger died because of that association but I still like the name.

    Other suggestions
    Rowan
    Evan
    Hayden
    Cooper
    Reuben

I don't mind Heath and Owen. They're not really *my* taste but I think they aren't too common and I like them

    Devin- no way.

Max- I love the sound of the name but it's way to common for me. What about the Welsh name Macsen? I know a boy called that and he gets Max for short. It's the coolest name ever!

I love Max (Maxwell not Maximillian) and Owen.

DH has vetoed Max, and we have a family member Owen and another family member Owain, so that's out too.

    Good luck!

I quite like his name choices. Owen and Max are my faves. I have a friend Devin (he's awesome if that helps hehe) Heath - I'm not really fond of though..

GL with the name. Such a hard decision!

Heath I don't like at all, or Devin.

Owen I think is lovely, would be my first choice from that list. I know a little Owen and he is lovely. Max I also think is nice.

    Boys names are so hard!

I like Max the best and Heath isn't to bad either. Not sure about the other two.

    Love Max the best

But sad feeb said Lachlan and Hamish were bully names... I already have a Lachlan (who is the sweetest 13month old) and If I have another boy, Hamish was our top pick

Aaarrgghh!! You girls have too much influence! Now every time I read a positive reply I think 'oh yeah, maybe that's the one I'll go with'... Then change my mind with the next reply!

Heath - I like the connotations. That it's a plant name ( which DD has too), and to me it sounds kind of gentle and kind. But the sound of the actual word when you call it out... it's all wrong to me. Heeeeeeeeth!

Owen - I like (ish) for the sound of the word but in my mind I can see little Owen being a bit nerdy and withdrawn. I've only every known one Owen and he got picked on heaps at school.

Max - I like it, it's just not MY son's name IYKWIM? I'm a bit of a hippie and it seems somehow harsh and a bit 'mainstream'.

Devin - for all the reasons given before... just no.

I just wish he would come up with something else that clicks with me. I'm not holding out hope though 'cause I've been through our whole baby name book and pulled out EVERYTHING I like, and he's not keen on anything I suggest. I'm beginning to think that I just sabotage these names as he seems determined to come up with something independently and not just agree with me. Siiigh. Lets hope this bubba hangs in there for a few more weeks (getting nervous though, as DD was born at 35 weeks) and something clicks.

Many, many thanks for all your input lovely ladies. xoxo

How about Maxwell or Maximillian then? They're the long forms of Max and not used as often as the nickname these days.

Just so long as your last name isn't Eddison or House, Maxwell is a great name. Then you can also use Well as a nickname, which is what I call my little one.

Thanks FB. I told DH that I do sit better with Maxwell (though still not entirely sure) but he doesn't like it. Max and only Max apparently.

Heath and Owen were my DP's suggestions for our DS. When they asked if we had a name DP wanted me to decide

My second choice was Heath, I wasn't as keen on Owen. In the end I went with Axel, since it was the first name to come to me early on in the pregnancy. I like names you don't hear very often.

    Good luck!

Owen reminds me of Owen Wilson. Now that he's all zen and recovered from depression and is partner had their baby at home I think he's uber cool and the name Owen is pretty enticing.

It's so frustrating agreeing on names! My pick is Heath, it's my DS2's middle name and the surname of one side of my family so I'm a bit biased LOL!

Good luck, I hope you feel happy with the final name
