I'm still waiting on my wrap... a Zara Mild (same as you Jennifer13!). It will be my first wrap and I'm a little excited. It's taking a long time for the wrap to get here (the woman I'm buying it through said she's had some problems with Ellevill recently - they sent a Jade Mild instead of a Zara Mild in the last order). So, fingers crossed it arrives soon so I can start wrapping (yo!).

Hee hee...I was looking at the Beco Butterfly 2 this morning, still kinda looking for a carrier DH can use easily - DH says it's worth getting a second carrier anyway even if he does have to wait a bit till he can back carry easily (should only be a few months anyway) because then later on when we have the next baby he can wear one and I can wear the other if we're going somewhere we don't want to take the pram

Not yet...they've been dispatched, so should be in the next weekCould've used it today too, DD had Nippers this morning so we were down the beach with DS in the ergo - he enjoyed it when I went into the water and his feet got wet. Ergo badly needs a wash now though, it's full of sand.

just going to jump in here.
looking for some ideas on what to buy next. my hug a bubs is somewhere lost in our recent move, I have an ergo but bubs is too small at the moment. I've been using my bubba moe for now but I'm not a fan, it just doesn't feel secure and ds2 seems to want to be more upright.
can you all hit me with your best suggestions? I've got a bad back so I need the weight to be distributed evenly.

We started with a hug-a-bub with my son, but with DD got an ergo, then moved on to woven wraps. Soooo wish I'd known about back wrapping with DS. oh well.
Right now I have 5 wraps I think (?), 2 on loan. And a wrap conversion (WC) mei tai (MT) and a WC half buckle (HB). The MT is made from a bamboo blend wrap, so lovely and soft, but not so supportive for heavier babies. Her name is Esme and I'm waiting for one of my besties to have her baby so Esme can enjoy some squishie snuggles.
The HB is a Beetlebums wrap restyle. His name is Doug. He is awesome. Some people wonder at paying $300+ for a carrier. Let me tell you - worth. every. cent.
Loulabelle - an open tailed ring sling (that's fully adjustable) might be a better option than the bubba moe. It'll distribute the weight more evenly and hold baby upright securely. A wrap is another option - stretchy ones are great for little babies. Or go straight to wovens that you can also use for back carries. The bamboo blends are loooovely and soft. Natibaby sells bamboo blends, also the ellevill paisleys are lovely. I can't make it on Monday, otherwise I'd bring a few things for you to see. next time.
Lots of parents want to carry baby facing out, but a high back carry is a better option, often. Babies like to see around, no doubt, but the centre of gravity is so far out and forward, it can be a real strain on the back. Some structured carriers carry quite low on the back (ergo for eg), so baby ends up leaning out to the side to see, so not so great. a wrap is fully adjustable, so you can tie them up as high as you want, pretty much. MTs and soft-structured carriers (SSCs) can be tied up/buckled up high - I do mine under the boob - to get babies up higher on your back, if need be.

I've used the bubzilla for both my boys. I still carry DS 2 in it and he happily sleeps in it whilst I do things.
Expecting twins in August. Doubt I'll be carrying 2 at once whilst trying to deal with a 2 yr old and a 4 yr old but my good old bubzilla will surely have some opportunities!!!

Happy1 - congrats! Google or YouTube search babywearing twins - you'll be surprised! My HB group did babywearing last month and an experienced wrapper could do two babies, one on the front and one on the back. For new babies you can do some front carries both in at once.
I am eagerly awaiting delivery of a new Rockin' Baby sling and a size 4 Didy black and white.

I need RS help. It seems to take me forever to get it fitting 'right' and it can be very difficult to adjust. I love it though.
How long does it normally take to wear a wrap in? I am hoping my RS will become easier to adjust as the wrap is worn in (Gira Rainbow).
I did a RS carry on my back yesterday and it has inspired me to try wrapping again... eventually.

dragoncookie - anyone you could catch up with to see what's going on? giras shouldn't need much breaking in, so far as I know. is it getting stuck in teh rings when you adjust, is that what you mean?
I wore DS on back and DD on front today. both my little cubs needed some special cuddles.
