this might be a good "investment" for us, DH is Dutch and doesn't handle anything over 30 very well and DS is very similar. Im ok, im always cold! Do you think it would fit a tall man who has massive shoulders and ribcage? *toddles of to google*

Haha, we have a Dutch friend who I caught sweating at 24 before his firs summer here! And yes, the Melkaj is a great fit on a tall frame. They have looooooong straps for extra goodness.

My Didy Indio size 5 arrived today! Yay, my first woven wrap!

When DD was a bub I carried her in a HaB- it was blue and orange! Hehehe, now they have lovely neutral tones. I went looking for it recently but I must have given it away. I bought an Ergo when DS1 was born. Now we have two- one for home, and one that stays in the car for outings. One is a Petunia Picklebottom design- black and white. All of my boys have liked the Ergo. I wore DS3 to a funeral last week in the Ergo, and he slept through the service. Thankfully.
My Indio is black and white too. I actually ordered a blue and white one but was contacted and informed that I could have a black/white straight away or wait 5 weeks for blue/white- I chose instant gratification! Actually DS3 is enormous, I wasn't game to wait 5 weeks. He is nearly 6kg at almost 5 weeks.

Sterla- did your Zara Mild arrive?

I've gone a little nuts and bought myself a few new wraps. an Oscha size two Red Sahara, the most gorgeous butterfly patterned-Didymos in a six and hopefully something lovely from a fellow BWer! Atm I'm loving my black and white Didy size four for back carrying and my Paisley for front. The Paisley is def the softest.

Ash - DP is great with DD2 in the Ergo. She falls asleep for him easily. I have to teach him to wrap, he's keen but unsure. I'm hoping our nanny, who starts next week, will find the Ergo easy to use.

Anyone have any feedback on getting a carer to wear their babies? Advice, tips?

Jenn, your new wraps sound lovely. My DH is happy to use the Ergo but I don't think he has any interest in wraps. I think he wonders why I bought one. And I think he has bad memories of the HaB. It took him a while to get the hang of it without me helping. What size is your paisley? I've realised I might have to buy a size 6 of something too. Not sure what though.

My Zara arrived on Friday and I have finally had time to play around with it today. Have mainly been trying front carries (with both kids) and it's really good. DS really loved it actually - just like a big cuddle! I definitely need practice, but I don't think it will take too long to get the hang of.

I'm going to a sling meet on Friday, so I'll get some help with back carries then .

That's great Sterla I have a DS the same age as yours. I should have a go with him. He used to love the Ergo but hasn't been in it for at least a year.

Hahahaha, my DH came in to the bedroom about an hour ago and picked up my new wrap and said 'What's this? A new dressing gown?' bahahaha! I don't even own a dressing gown! I said 'It's my new wrap'. He looked really sheepish. He kept saying 'it's really nice material'. He was probably hoping I would forget his dressing gown comment! I haven't had a chance to fiddle around with my wrap yet. I should get a chance tomorrow.

My ABA group had a baby wearing topic today and I got to see a fair few different carriers slings etc. Also got to see a couple of back carrys including the double hammock thingy one. Looked great, has almost made me want to expand my range of my one Ergo and HAB, but with no more children, a not great back, and 9kg and 16kg currently am not sure I would get the use. Before DS was born I bought a gorgeous Kleinsmekker but then couldn't carry much at first due to CS and back problems and the straps put me off so sold it without using it but didn't lose any money on it.

The Wompat looks interesting Triple J , I use my Ergo for the footy and other sporting stuff plus round the city so I do like the full buckles as are off and on alot. Are there any full buckles which cross over at back as I like idea of that?

Wysiwig - you can cross the straps on the Olives and Applesauce and the Manduca.

Ash, my Paisley is a six and so is my Zara. I'll have three sixes and two fours, plus the two.

Google the different wrapping styles and you discover you actually do need all the different sizes!

My Oscha arrived this morning! Can't wait to try out shortie wraps now.

A qn for the more experienced wrappers: how long does it take to break in a new wrap? All of my others have been secondhand and already soft. This is linen.

To soften my oscha I've washed, tumbled dried on low and steam ironed. Oscha 100% linens are probably the hardest to break in. Other things you can do are sitting/sleeping on it, braiding, running it through ring slings. Oh, and using it will help too.

i rubbed my new wrap around a chair leg and sat on it, washed it and chain knotted it. linens are notoriously hard to break in ive heard
i have my jim back from SIL i used it at the expo we went to on the weekend (only allowed to use it for DS's sleep other than that he had to be in the pram so he could "see") and i only saw one other wrap (also a jim) and other than that i only saw ergos and danglers...

I'm mastering the slip knot, but the linen itself is lovely and cool. It certainly does need softening up though, so I'll put some of your suggestions into practice. So many choices now! DP loves the stash, he's taken to telling ppl how many I have.

I think the 100% linen can take a while. I'm too afraid to buy one. i like linen blends though.

Maybe this one needs some holidaying interstate to help break it in. Honestly, it isn't too bad even now. Can't wait until it's worn in! I'm sitting on it as we speak.

I am completely shocked at how many wraps I could easily keep on buying. Diff sizes, colours, fabric, blends, is there no regard for my bank account???
