How much difference is there between a double hammock and secure high back carry? Is one more snug and/or easier to do? I like the look of both on the Youtube tutorials I've seen, maybe I need to try them both out....? My DD has very good head control but I do want to give her some support if she gets tired, especially at such a young age. Wondering if double hammock would be better for cold weather too...?

Do you find it easier to do superman/santa toss or hip wiggle around to the back? Again, what would you suggest for a little, wiggly bubba?
Anyone? Apologies if you've already answered (a billion times)!

Really just want to know difference between rucksack, double hammock and secure high back carry. Looking for snuggest/most secure for three-month-old. Ruck looks easiest...is it best for neck support though?

I found Santa toss easier for small bubs, then hip.scoot for when they are older but it is highly individual.

I find double hammock better for me. I never wrapped with him that young so I can't say for a 3mth old.

i've never done shbc, only dh and ruck
some recommend shbc to start as you can tie before doing back passees. seems like it might be uncomfy to me

Do you prefer DH or ruck - or is it more about where you're going/how long/what's quicker etc...?

I didn't like the chest belt with SHBC. Ruck was good to learn first so I could practice getting a good seat. DD would lose patience with the secondpass if I took too long to get a seat. I mostly DH as I find it so comfy. Head support has never been an issue as long as I have her high enough that she can rest her head on the back of my neck. ETA - and make sure the top rail is snug.

it depends on the length of the wrap. shorter ruck and longer DH. but i also prefer something thinner and slippier in a dh and thicker (relatively) and grippier in a ruck.
There are some great all-rounders, though, which I can do either with in a size 4. My karma is perfect for this, for eg.
DH is more comfortable, generally, though, again, it depends on the wrap. the dh is generally more supportive.

Thanks guys. We tried the DH at home this morning and, while she hated the wrapping, she loved the end result! So much more relaxed than in a front carry. We had a great time strolling around the house in our pjs, checking out pictures and stuff

You were right about the DH being comfy. I need to work on getting the top rail tighter though, she felt a little low to me. Also might try tying above the bust rather than around waist. I guess practice makes perfect.

    I'm quite excited!

    It is, a baby-sized lump!

I've come up with a good response when everyone asks me if she's getting heavy. I tell them she still weighs less than the amount I put on while pg and bwing means she's up close and in a much more comfortable position! This should buy me at least another six months, because no way is DD2 going to weigh that much by 1.
