Red face Going to the toilet while babywearing?

We've so far only used our sling for the supermarket and market shopping, however this morning the little one would not settle no matter what i did and i have an essay that is due next week (i've one week left of a 4 week extension so it has to be done) so i decided to pop her in the sling and go for a quick walk - she is now fast asleep and so I can get on with study (in theory...yet i'm on here). Anyway, getting to the point, how do you do things like go to the loo? Do you just wear them while you go? Or risk disturbing them? I remember in antenatal classes the midwife said that when she was at the shops whilst babywearing, she had to go to the loo and so took the sling off ( i think it was a pouch one) and hung it on the back of the door - not sure if she was joking or not!

(how to turn a simple question into an essay - if only my real essay wrote itslef so easily!)

    Thanks

OMG I would never hang the sling on the door, who knows how stong the hooks are. I hope she was joking.
This happened to me a few times, I just left DD where she was I still had my hands free and could manage fine. I figured it was better to do that than the alternatives - eg hooks or dirty floor!

If I have to go when out then I just go whilst still wearing bubs. It is just easier than getting her in and out. Also if I am by myself I have no choice, I am not going to lay bubs on a toilet floor. At home I judge whether it is safe to put bubs down, if not then I just go to the toilet wearing her.

It's easy just to go if you have to and I've done it stacks of times. I also don't like thinking about what to do with bub if you take the sling off down the shops!

I just go with DD in the carrier. I mean, where else can I put her? Not on the floor. Its a normal bodily function, so its not a big deal to me. XP has had her in the carrier, and gone to the loo. Standing up though. I would have taken her from him, but she'd just gone to sleep.

I'm all for going to the loo while bubs is in the sling. Public or not The worse I find is when they fall asleep in the shops just as you are getting ready to get to the car and then you have to either stay or wake them up to put them in the car.

Oooh the amount of times I've had to stay for aaaaaaaages because of that and nothing to do but wander aimlessly...lol.

As for going to the toilet with bubs in a sling well actually hugabub, yep done that. I found it quite similar as trying to go when heavily pg except bubs is on the outside..lol. I don't get to go on my own much any more anyway..haha.
