Wow, I love some of these ideas, they'll come in handy for Danielle's 2nd birthday.

For her first birthday I just kept it simple. We had the ball pit and sand pit which the littlies loved. But they all spent a lot of time playing with the toys Danielle had just been given. Pass the parcel is good fun, and some music and dancing, like the hookey pookey.

For food I served fruits, fairy bread and party pies and sausage rolls. Funnily enough it was the fruit that the kids went for first. And of course there was birthday cake. I didn't do any lolly bags, but at one party we went to they all got a little toy, like a pair of sunglasses, which lasts a lot longer than lollies.
