2 to 3 kids...challenges?

Hi there, no. 3 was our surprise child, we were not trying to conceive, having said that I'm pleased she is in our lives. Yes it is tricky trying to manage school, preschool and a new bub but as has been mentioned she is quite a laid back sort of child that does seem to sleep and feed any where. One of the hardest things that I have round is keeping the little pieces of toys away from her and to get the older kids to keep doors shut, eg. the toilet door, because she's straight in there and making a mess.

My 3 will all be very young so I won't have the school issues...only 3yo kinder which is only once or twice a week I think...

As I said I'm not too worried...we all manage regardless! LOL! It's nice to hear of personal experiences though!

LOl - I'm definitley not looking forward to more washing and more cooking though - hehe!!!

Three really isn't that much harder than two. I found my third just fitted in. To be honest sometimes I forget she's there she's so good. I think they learn from the start that they have to wait. The only harder thing is the logistics. More room in the house, maybe a bigger car, double pram and down the track school fees and activities.$$$$$$. as you know I'm having no 4 now. After two you're outnumbered. Don't stress you'll be fine. I'm the one that should be stressing.LOL

I also had alot of people comment about having three. Am just waiting for the remarks when I tell them about no 4. There is a saying "Opinions are like a@#holes. Everybody has one and thinks that their own doesn't stink"

LOL Jo! Dh already had someone call him an idiot - in more choice language than that for having no.3. I don't usually let it bother me as I love my boys and am so excited about extending our family!

Although we have had a lot of comments of - well that better be it now sort of thing...dh agrees but I'm not so sure...however that will be another battle for next year! LOL!

Louis is such a gorgeous boy I'm sure he'll be a good helper - he was with Dylan and was only so young at the time, also very patient...we have lots to teach Dylan in the next 8 months however..he's such a little terror! hehe.

The jump from 2-3 is defn noticeable....like others have said, more washing, more nappies, more food to be bought.....all that kinda stuff. Its harder to go to the shops, on outings you no longer have DH looking after one and you looking after the other - 3 outweighs 2 !!!!Going to the shops is difficlutl......but i do it.

EVERY time i go to the shops with my 3 in toe i get at least one comment 'wow, youve got your hands full'......yes, i do have my hands full, but i enjoy it. People have seemed shocked when i say that all 3 of them are still at home (DD#1 goes to school next year). TBH some days we arent dressed till 10am - how i could possibly get one out the door to school whilst having a newborn i would never know. Im glad i have had my 3 close together, and all under school age. Its nice to be able to say some days 'we're having a day at home today'....coz as of next year, and for the next 15 years or so, i wont be able to say that now will i ?? LOL !!!

Hmm - I'm lucky to have the kids and I dressed by 10am now!! So maybe I'll aim for 11am when the next one arrives - LOl! How true when 1 starts going to school - you have to be organised by 8.30am every morning!! Gosh....Hmmm I shall enjoy these next couple of years then! Hehe.

To be honest I didnt find having #3 to be a big change. There were a couple of things though, like more washing and I was a lot more tired than I was with the first two - mainly from having to get up during the night not only to Matilda, but also to the other two for various reasons. Also shopping with the 3 of them is not fun! But overall Matilda just slotted in and of course we wouldn't change a thing. Now we are thinking about #4!

I found the jump from 2 to 3 was fine

My eldest was older though.

I did find the jump from 3-4 a huge difference. I had a 4yr old, 2 yr old and a newborn.. My eldest was 8.

I still manage to get out the door by 8 when needed.. or earlier if need be..

we just take the day as it comes
