It could be the stress of the last few mnths (I remember reading about the car accident) has caused some regression or the need to comfort suck and causing issues with her speech.

DS would have problems with his speech when he had an ear ache, he had no other symptoms, didn't complain about his ears hurting or a temperature the only thing was he wasn't talking as well as normal and if you didn't know how well he spoke you wouldn't think anything was wrong. I would see how it goes and take her to the dr's on Monday just to rule anything out.
