Normal in my house too Ds is, of course, the centre of the universe and doesn't seem to understand that the world does not revolve around him.
Definately not your fault alex'smum. I think it's just them pushing the boundaries of their independance. but it's very difficult and very frustrating some days
ill join in here and say yep my DD is the same lol
then after her tantrum she gets up and is the angel again and giggling and talking to me lol
i just ignore her tantrums now they only last 30 seconds now and then i get down and say you finished or does mummy need to go back to doing her thing lol
i usually get a sowwy mummy and cuddle lol or she goes hmm ok and runs away and plays in teh lounge room lol
My DD who is 24 months, has tanties over everything, She is bossy, wants everything her way, wants everything to be hers, when we build blocks hers has to be the tallest and not fall!
She will throw herself, doesn't matter where, isn't concerned if she is hurt, she screams, cries.
I hope it's normal too cos it sounds just like my 22mth old!!
Re the cooking, often DD just wants to get up to see what's happening. I let her stand on a stepstool at the end of the kitchen bench and give her some implements and food to play with. This seems to keep her occupied for a bit.
