My almost-3-year-old dropped his day sleep a few months ago - unfortunately! He's a hugely busy kid, always on the go, all the time, so I was surprised he did. He's usually feral and cranky by 4-5pm now, but I find if he does happen to fall asleep during the day (which he does occasionally, but not very often) he can still be crawling the walls around 9-10pm so DH & I have decided we'd rather deal with the late afternoon feralness, than the late night (as we're up at 5.30am every morning).

I really miss the quiet time I used to get between lunch and 3pm while he had a nap, but it seems he is at that inbetween stage where he gets too tired without a sleep, but with a sleep, its too much. Not only that, he seems to have his body clock set to wake up at 5.30am every single morning, and its been quite hard lately! He loves to waltz in and loudly announce "its daytime mummy, GET UP!"
