5 month old with a cold

Hi girls

Just needing some advice - my DS (5mnths next week) has a head cold. Snotty nose and a bit of a cough which I think is from the flem going down his throat. Is there any advice on how to help him? I have a manual aspirator and am trying to clear his nose as much as possible but they arent pleasant to use and he hates it.



Any other advice and tips on things to use would be great!

Ps feel bad as I think he got it from me :-( poor little guy!

Have you tried some Euky Rub?? It's like Vicks for kids. It works wonders for DD.

The saline nose drops are good to help clear nostrils, or if breastfeeding some breast milk dropped on there too. A vaporiser in the room while sleeping, propping the cot mattress up slightly so they aren't lying flat helps with the coughing. The euky rub or Vicks rub also is great!

Im a huge fan of nice steamy bathrooms and a shower or bath and pretty much what the other clever ladies have suggested Its hard when they are so little, they all get sick though, hun, dont beat yourself up

All of the above...and rubbing euky bear on his feet and putting socks on....even just a saucepan filled with boiling water and eucalyptus oil in will make the room smell nice give off vapours...
