i wouldnt be worried, babies often sleep better on tummy, just think where are you most comfy when in bed?? i knkow i like my tummy or side to sleep on, if she can roll onto her tummy she can roll back![]()
My 5 month old DD started rolling onto her tummy a couple of weeks ago. Since then, she hasn't stopped. It's very cute but a bit frustrating as she keeps practising in her cotThis morning she was having a nice little sleep in (til 7.30am - woohoo!) so I thought I'd just check on her and she was on her tummy! It completely freaked me out as I couldn't see her face but she did have her head turned to the side and was fine.
I have the Angel Care Sound & Movement Monitor and DD sleeps in Grobags but I'm so, SO worried about SIDS. So my question is should I be restricting her in her cot, like with one of those wraps that hold her in place? She does tend to yell out if she gets stuck but I guess I'm worried she'll be too tired to call out if she needs me. The monitor really does help ease my mind but I'll admit I'm a super paranoid mummy
As she's mastered the rolling on her own and is doing it a lot, does it mean that she's probably strong/mature enough to be alright if she does roll onto her tummy during the night?
TIA!

Once they are moving around you really don't have control over how they sleep anymore.
Tummy sleeping shouldn't be a problem, especially if she is in a grow bag and has her arms free.
I wouldn't be concerned. If she has good head control and can lift her chest off the ground, she should be fine. There's nothing you can do to stop them from rolling onto their tummies at this age.
Just be grateful she's happy to sleep on her tummy cause my little one isn't and it's been a bit of a nightmare these last few weeks!
willow DD2 has only just realised that tummy sleeping aint that bad![]()
LOL, good luck Trish!
The anti roll pillow is working really well for us for his day naps, but unfortunately hasn't improved his night sleep
Olive - I don't get it, my other two loved sleeping on their tummies! I'm a tummy sleeper too so it's got me stumped why he doesn't like it.
Thanks girls. I'll let her be then and hopefully she'll sleep better during the day when she gets onto her tummy. Day sleeps have been hit and miss for 6 weeks now and were starting to improve then rolling startedThere is always something new!
try not to worry too much, I went through exactly the same thing when my DS started rolling. In the end I gave up and realised that he wanted to sleep that way then he would. I also have the Angelcare monitor and that does give me peace of mind.
