Baby clothes - where to buy?

    Hello everyone!

I am getting told by young parents not to spend so much on my baby's clothes when the time comes, since they grow really fast! Does anyone know of cheap baby clothes online or something? My workmate told me to go to Bonds when they are on sale, but again I am wondering if I go crazy at a sale I will end up with too much unwanted stuff.

Are the prices considered expensive or reasonable? It all seems very overwhelming!

    Hope somebody can help

    Sasha

    When is your baby due???
There are facebook pages where parents are selling stuff. The other place to check out is kids and babies markets. There is one coming up at Kellyville.

    baby due

Apparent date is 28 May 2010. Hopefully it will be on time!

So there are loads of secondwear trade going on facebook pages? That's pretty cool! I didn't know about that. Do I just search baby clothes on FB?

    Thanks!

I'll have to have a look and see what the groups are called that I have on my page. I'll let you know tonight... don't have FB at work

Do you know what your having??? I'm due around the same time as you and we don't know what we are having, but if we have a boy your welcome to the hundreds of bags of girls stuff we have

Also, you'd be surprised at how generous people are when you actually have the baby!

I have got a lot of clothes for DD off Ebay. Baby clothes don't have a lot of wear and tear (until they start crawling!) so generally second hand clothes are in really good condition and look almost brand new. Maybe try the Salvos as well?

And I second that once people know you are having a baby, you will have freebies coming out your ears! I got so many clothes from just work colleagues that I didn't have to buy much at all for her as a newborn.

    facebook and second hand

I think getting second hand clothes isn't so bad from a friend or parent, but my boyfriend is super *** about Salvo's and stuff.

I don't see the big deal, but it's his baby too..so...

But I think checking out facebook would be all right! (Haven't told him yet)

Do people buy off ebay in bulk second hand clothes?

Apologies it seems like I have so many questions!

the baby clothes at big w and kmart are not bad quality and cheap too! Pumpkin patch have a good clearance store online.

I know a friend of mine would get stuff off ebay - she pays about $5 for a box of baby clothes - she said some stuff wasn't worth wearing, but there would be at least half the box that was still in good condition.

I wouldn't buy too much ahead - just get some basics like a few onesies and vests (i preferred the ones that popped closed under their nappy) and if you're planning on having more than one, its great to get this in neutral patterns because then you can use them again. Once they're born, you can always get some gender-specific stuff plus don't forget, you might get quite a few clothes bought as presents anyway.
