I have gotten some really good bargains on ebay from time to time for my boys as well - as SammyRo pointed out, sometimes the stuff you end up with isn't worth wearing and I've been known to put stuff straight in the bin, but if you're careful who you buy from, you can get some really good bulk packs of clothes.
I tried the whole online thing too from various online stores, but I found once I paid for postage, often it wasn't always worth it, and I was better off waiting until the likes of Target were having a sale, and also Best & Less is quite good for bub/little kids clothes. I find that Best & Less is probably better for toddler clothes than it is for baby clothes. but I realise you were hoping for online stuff.
Its true about them growing so fast though - my boys were both really small newborns so they were in 00000 sized clothes to start with, but they really only fitted into them for a few weeks at the most (even DS2 who was 5 weeks early had grown into 0000 by the time his due date rolled around), so definitely don't go too crazy with the newborn stuff, you may even find bub doesn't wear some of it at all if he/she grows too fast.
I just got stuff from Target and Kmart and had a few people give me hand me downs which were great too. I wonce bought a heap of Pumpkin Patch clothes and they were the worst quality clothes I have bought fo rthe money, I thought Target were alot better quality and half the price.
I think Kmart and Target are all right. Got some stuff for my friend's 3 year old, everything is quite decently priced!
Does anyone ever go off the tangent and buy designer babywear?
And I was looking at the online websites before, there's this gadget called b. box. Anyone heard of it? It's like this baby wipes thing and they say once you use it, you would never want to live without it? Seems too good to be true - any mummies have used it before I make a purchase?
Hi,
I have no issues with second hand clothes for a newborn, if people are anything like me: we had that many baby clothes they were hardy worn before the DD's had grew out of them.
I'd invest in a few good quality jumpsuits(Bonds, Target or PP are my favs), bubs are usually more comfortable and also more user friendly for parents.
Ebay is great for bargains, depends on what you are after though. Second hand designer clothes can often sell for as much as they are new!
I second what Sunshine suggested- the baby and kids markets. Just google them ("baby and kids market") to find the one near you and the next date it's on. I have bought lots of great baby and kids designer (and non-designer) clothes from 50 cents to a few dollars each and in super condition. It is an indoor swapmeet type thing for baby and chn's clothing.
