ds is nearly 16 months and I've just packed away the last of the 000's mind you he's also been wearing 00's for ages and some 0's. Now he's into all 0's I'd say he will be in those for ages too.

Just to prove that sizes vary widely for brand, DD1 is still in some size 0 pants, at 2.5 years old.

I got about 3-4 weeks worth of 00000 with DS1 (born 6pound), and never got to use them on DS2 (born 7pound4)
0000 would've been til they were about 3-4 months of age
Then 000 til they were about 9 -12 months
And 00 til about 16 months of age
Then finally the 0 - which my almost 2 year old is still able to wear - especially when wearing a disposable (which is rare though - mainly at night) and pretty soon more when he is about to toilet train.
My DS1 - who will be 4years old in May still wears mostly 1's (and some 2's - but the 1's fit better with his undies).

DS was in 0000 for a couple of weeks maybe, and then in 000 for a few months.

If we were buying all new stuff for this baby, I wouldn't bother with any 0000 - because he's already an estimated 2kgs!!

00 and 0 all lasted for months. He wears a 2 now, but still fits some 1s he stretched

My DDs have stayed in all sizes for ages - they're tiny.

The only thing they grew out of quickly was 0000s that had feet - they were just too short. They stayed in 0000s in bodysuits, legs, and onesies without feet for a good few months though. Nothing to say that this little girl will be like her big sisters, but I've learned my lesson and the few things I have bought new in 0000 are all without feet.

I agree the Bonds sizes are tiny, followed next by Target.

DD was born a 000. Her feet were so big and legs so long that 0000 suits would cur her up. So they didn't get used. She was in 000s up til 3 months, then 00s until 9 months, then 0s until 12 months (some 0s still going, but she's long and skinny, so onesies etc we had to skip to 1s early) Now she's in 1s and a couple of 2s.

I recommend buying stuff after baby is born - you will get stackloads of handmedowns and gifts, and also that way you will get stuff for the right season. I had to give away a whole bunch of 00 gifts because Brissie winter was too cold for them - interstate relatives seem to think it's an ndless summer up here!

we didn't need any 00000 (or bonds 0000 - their sizing seems quite small in the wondersuits especially) but DS was in 0000 for a few weeks. he was probably in 00 & 0 for the longest & was into 1's a little before his first birthday. but i think it really does depend on the baby - i know a few people whose LOs are in a size height-wise but are so slim that there are only certain things they can wear without them falling off.

i bought mostly 0000 & some 000 before DS was born & then just stocked up when there were sales on as we went along.

We started in 00000 for a bit, 0000 lasted much longer than I thought, (he was a slow grower up to 6months) as did 000 but 00 for the longest! But It's so dependent on brand! My now average sized almost 9month old is currently wearing 00 and some 0 (which are too big), but is still wearing a few 000 things, and in one brand size 1!

ooh - and it also depends a bit if you're going cloth or disposible nappy - cloth is much bulkier when they're so little! so the little sizes fit for an even shorter span of time.
