Work put on a morning tea for me and two other new mums and both my mother and I thought DS was far cuter than my colleagues' bubs. That was until I saw the pictures taken on the day and my DS looked like he had a head the shape of a full moon... Terrible photo!! :P

Not actively. But no child is as goodlooking as mine. Even those of you who say your child is good looking, I am sure they are and I would agree with you, but you haven't met the hunk of gorgeousness that is Liebling. Even "I don't do babies" people adore him. Objectively, I can think of one other boy who is as cute as Liebling (even though he looks very different he is gorgeous too!) and a few girls who are very pretty. But I can also think of many more who aren't all that cute.

I have photos of DS as a baby and he could have been a baby model. Not talking maternally here (I seemed to have found the non-maternal bone in my body when DS came along): he takes a VERY good picture. He's a bit less cute now, but there's still no real competition (aside from Jules, but as he's French too that's a different league altogether).

Having said that, I'd put up with an ugly child if it meant he stopped hitting me, trying to break my nose and realised the correct response to "Do you want to give Mammy a kiss?" is not "No."

I sometimes used to wonder if I'd know if my children were unattractive! I used to think do people think I am weird for thinkng my kids are attractive but then I knew that was impossible cause they are so gorgeous LOL I do look back on baby photos or Erin and think OMG she was soooo fat (all breast milk) and maybe she wasn't as cute as we thought at the time!
I do look at DD now and think she needs to "de****" her look a bit.

Yeah, of course. I'm always going to Shel "that baby wasn't as cute as Jazz" hehe.
But then, look at her, I haven't seen a baby that can compare to my little miss Jazz. She's the cutest around

    Hehehehehehe!

pmsl, this is funny. Yes, DH and I actually do think we have the prettiest most gorgeous baby around. But then yesterday I was looking at newborn pictures and I remembered her being a lot cuter. But maybe it's just that she gets cuter everyday and she's even more beautiful the older she gets and the more personality she gets.

You know the other funny thing is, when someone says to me "oh, he's really cute", I just glow with bursting pride- EVEN THOUGH I say this to others when I only kind of half mean it (secretly thinking their kid is not half as cute as my kid)...so I KNOW in my head they could be just saying it to be nice, but my heart hears it like "oh, I knew I was right- I have the cutest kid ever!".
    same here

Hahahahahaha, yep me too. Went to a midwife reunion yesterday, and even though they were saying it about every baby there, of course they only really meant it for Jazz. i mean, they said it so enthusiastically! And with such feeling, which could only come from someone who REALLY means it.

But I'm not blinded by love or anything.

"The reason they make em so cute is so we don't kill them in their sleep"

Actually, I will admit to once I had a WT moment. Lyta was overcooked, wrinkly and didnt "fit in her own skin" yet, so when she was first handed to me I had an "OMG, We make ugly babies" moment. She was mine ad DHs first, so I felt like crying because all our babies were going to be ugly.

Needless to say, she turned out to be a swan.
