comparing your child....

i OFTEN catch myself or DH looking at other children and comparing their 'looks' to Jacks....
Have you ever thought to yourself....'oh that boy/girl is not as cute/goodlooking as xxx'
Sad to say..i have often looked and thought that

Obviously you haven't seen my DS, cause no child is as gorgeous as mine!
But seriously, DH is always asking people "Don't you think he's really cute? Isn't he the cutest kid?"

yes, many times. But as a parent we have the right to be biased.

i am actually sad admitting that!!!!!
but in all honesty...i am sure everyone does it.....i often hear DH commenting on other peoples bubbas....and i say to him...'you can't say that!!!' and he turns around and says to me...but didn't you just comment on that other baby??

i feel really horrible now admitting this!!!!

I don't...I think all kids are cute.
Obviously mine are much cuter, but I really honestly think all kids are adorable in their own way!
DH on the other hand is a tad more biased, lol.

Yep, totally do it. I have always thought DS was the cutest kid ever, but the funny thing is, when I look back at photos of him when he was younger (and not at his current level of uber-cuteness!), I think "hm....maybe not as cute as I thought".

I was at a friend's house recently and she was like "I just beleive how handsome my son is". I really don't think her kid is cute, so I didn't know what to say! But it goes to show every mama thinks her kid is the best, as they should! I think its lovely how biased we are!

Im guilty too!! And I know when I see ppls new borns at hospital and I say "oh he/she is adorable.." sometimes I dont really mean it and DH will say when we leave - not as beautiful as Bella! Thats bad huh!
I think we are juts hard wired to think our kids are the best EVER!

And by the way Isabella IS THE CUTEST EVER!! hehehe

Guilty! Me & my DH do the same thing as Jakabella does. We will see a cute child and remark how he or she is cute but then say to each other 'no way near as cute as Harry' lol

Oh I am sooo bad for it. I dare anybody to tell me they produce better-looking offspring than DH and I lol
DH is heaps worse for it though, at least I can acknowledge freely when I *do* spot a cute kid that does not have some of my DNA - DH flat-out refuses to fathom that his baby girls have equals among them lol

Not actively. But no child is as goodlooking as mine. Even those of you who say your child is good looking, I am sure they are and I would agree with you, but you haven't met the hunk of gorgeousness that is Liebling. Even "I don't do babies" people adore him. Objectively, I can think of one other boy who is as cute as Liebling (even though he looks very different he is gorgeous too!) and a few girls who are very pretty. But I can also think of many more who aren't all that cute.

I have photos of DS as a baby and he could have been a baby model. Not talking maternally here (I seemed to have found the non-maternal bone in my body when DS came along): he takes a VERY good picture. He's a bit less cute now, but there's still no real competition (aside from Jules, but as he's French too that's a different league altogether).

Having said that, I'd put up with an ugly child if it meant he stopped hitting me, trying to break my nose and realised the correct response to "Do you want to give Mammy a kiss?" is not "No."

I sometimes used to wonder if I'd know if my children were unattractive! I used to think do people think I am weird for thinkng my kids are attractive but then I knew that was impossible cause they are so gorgeous LOL I do look back on baby photos or Erin and think OMG she was soooo fat (all breast milk) and maybe she wasn't as cute as we thought at the time!
I do look at DD now and think she needs to "de****" her look a bit.
