Perhaps a Podiatrist could have a look rather than a GP? Kids nails grow so quickly that it will probably be alright. If you think it is starting to look a little odd, get it looked at.
What a brave little girl she is...must be that beautiful red hair It really is gorgeous!

Leash I think you should get it looked at. DD did something similar to this with her nail, she dropped a dumbell on her toe and it broke the nail in half horizontally. The dr had to monitor it to make sure there would be no permanent damage.

You'll hve to wait until the nail grows off by itself, don't pull it off. It's pretty gross in the mean time though.

I agree, get it looked at but don't pull it off. It's still protecting the skin underneath even if it is only just hanging on. If it doesn't look like it's going to snag on anything I'd just leave it be. But I'd also check with the GP just for peace of mind. They will probably say to monitor it and look out for signs of infection - redness, moisture (pus), heat.
She is certainly a brave little girl! I was squirming in my seat reading about that one!

Well it came off this morning after she sat there playing with it EEEEEWWWWWWWWWWW. We were trying to let it dry out, so had the sock and bandaid off. Gosh my child is gross
Its red underneath but seems fine, so we got the iodine onto it and have it covered again.

URGH so this afternoon we were outside and she came to the patio which is raised about 8(ish)cm above the level of the grass and she TRIPPED. She has walked this daily for ... well about a year now! And today she TRIPPED and went face first into the side of a chair! Big grazed line across the bridge of her nose, bruised, and there was some swelling which has gone down now, and also the bruise is going down into her eye.

    My poor moosh! What next?!?!?!?!?!?!
